For this project, the customer hires numerous contractors throughout the year for the various departments in their facility. The security department has accumulated over 50,000 fingerprint records stored in paper media, which was getting increasingly difficult to manage and retrieve individual records for investigation. As well, paper records tend to degrade and lose quality over time.
The AFIS Touch is an Automated Fingerprint Identification System designed to interface the existing security system and is used to collect, classify and store fingerprints of company personnel.
The system integrates 10-print Live Scan technology from Crossmatch and fingerprint identification technology from Innovatrics.
It is customized specifically for the customer's intricate requirements to integrate with the facility database and generate usage reports.
The system contains the following features:
The enrollment window is used to create and manage personnel records. It collects personal information, fingerprint images, and face images.
Data can also be obtained from the legacy database.
The fingerprint images can either be obtained from the live scanner for the current fingerprints or paper scanner for the legacy fingerprints.
The record may then be saved and printed.
The contracts may be identified using the live scan, card scan, or search options.
The lists module displays all users, watchlist users, or blacklist users.
The user records are displayed in the grid.
You can search the employees contained in the database using the search function.
Records can also be added and removed from Watchlist and Blacklist.
A variety of usage reports may be generated by the system.
The customer's private hospital strives to provide its patients with the best possible care by constantly analyzing and improving its operations. The hospital maintains an ever-growing number of medical records currently numbering over 25,000. It is difficult and time consuming to verify patient's identity every time. The latest modernization effort was an automatic fingerprint identification system successfully implemented by ACTGroup Inc using an award winning identification algorithm provided by Innovatrics. The benefits of the system are numerous:
To begin the registration process, the user selects any of the 10 fingers in the Finger Select window. The user will then be prompted to scan the fingerprint 3 times. If the 3 fingerprints match with sufficient accuracy, the registration will proceed using the highest quality fingerprint out of the three which will also be displayed on the corresponding fingerprint button and Finger Select picture box and the Finger Template picture box. The user may then enter up to 10 fingerprints. The user does not have to complete all of them, but the more records present, the more accurate is the identification process.
The user begins the identification by putting their finger on the scanner. Any previous information present on the screen will be cleared. When the fingerprint image is received by the system, it will be displayed in the Input Fingerprint image box and the matching server will perform 1-to-many identification. The results will then be returned to the client.
The user can search the patient database based on the selected field. When the user selects a patient from the list of the results, the patient information along with any available fingerprints will be displayed. The user can edit any of the fields and press Update Patient Information to save the updated information to the database.
